Only 90 km from merida (1.30 hrs) is located in the north-west corner of the yucatan peninsula, there is a small peninsula  with a lagoon that borders the sea of the gulf of mexico and a huge estuary.

There is a huge estuary. It is the habitat of pink flamingos.

There are two enormous ecosystems: the mangrove swamp, which, from small insects, birds, reptiles, even pumas and jaguars make their habitat.
